Terms of Service

These Terms govern access to and use of Marnis, a personal notes and relationship app: you write notes, record people, companies, and places, connect them, and explore those connections, with an assistant that can answer questions about your own content.

Marnis is operated by Denvo LLC, 1209 Mountain Road Pl NE, Ste N, Albuquerque, NM 87110, United States ("Denvo", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using Marnis you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data.

1. Account and access

You create an account by registering with your email address or by accepting an invitation. Authentication is handled through Supabase Auth. You must provide accurate information, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure, and you must be at least 13 years old to use Marnis.

2. Your content

Everything you enter into Marnis - notes, contacts, links, and chats - belongs to you. You retain all rights to it. You grant us only the limited rights needed to operate the service: storing your content, displaying it back to you, indexing it for search, and, when you use the assistant, passing the excerpts needed to answer your request to our model provider. We do not use your content to train models, we do not sell it, and we show no ads.

You are responsible for what you record, including information about other people in your notes. Do not enter content you have no right to store or that is unlawful.

3. Acceptable use

Marnis is for your personal notes and your own network. You must not use it to harass, stalk, or surveil others, to collect or publish personal information about others unlawfully, to distribute malware or unlawful content, or to disrupt or probe the service. You may not resell, copy, or reverse engineer Marnis except where the law permits it. The Marnis software, design, and name remain the property of Denvo and its licensors.

4. The assistant

The assistant reads your content to answer your questions and can suggest new entries, which are only saved after you confirm them. Its answers are generated by a language model and may be incomplete or wrong. Check them before you rely on them.

5. Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep Marnis available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features and limits may change over time, and we may suspend or limit access to protect the service, enforce these Terms, or comply with legal requirements. Where access is currently provided free of charge, it may be limited or ended with reasonable notice; if we introduce paid plans, the price and terms presented at purchase will apply.

6. Termination and deletion

You can stop using Marnis at any time. To delete your account and your content, email privacy@marnis.co from your account email address; there is currently no self-service deletion in the app, and we carry out deletion requests for you. Before deletion you can request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format at the same address.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, with notice where practicable. Sections that by their nature survive termination, including sections 2, 7, and 8, remain in effect.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Marnis is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of uninterrupted operation, error-free results, or fitness for a particular purpose. You are responsible for the content you enter and for how you act on what Marnis shows you.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Denvo is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or revenue, and our total liability under these Terms is limited to the amounts you paid to us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including mandatory consumer rights in your state or country of residence.

8. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, USA, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Exclusive venue for all disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms is the state and federal courts located in Bernalillo County, New Mexico, and both parties consent to personal jurisdiction there. If the mandatory consumer protection laws of your state or country of residence grant you additional rights, these Terms do not deprive you of them.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service or legal requirements change. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you in the application or by email where appropriate. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
